post guidelines
All pictures of individual pins are allowed.
Pictures of your collection of pins are not allowed (post them individually and add them your collection!)
Pictures of pins must be actual photographs, not renderings.
Pictures of pins should ideally fit the attributes below. When deciding whether it is worth it to add another picture of a pin, consider these to be in order of preference. (e.g. If your picture has a single pin pictured but is on a convoluted background, and theirs has multiple pins pictured, but on a cork background, you should definitely post your picture!)
- Whole pin pictured > Part of pin cropped
- No backing card > Backing card
- Single pin pictured (with exceptions) > Irrelevant pins included
- Accurate saturation > Color-filtered (Represent the pin accurately. Don't try to make it look better than it does)
- Cork or flat color background > Convoluted background (like rippled cloth)
- Limited glare > Lots of glare
- Straight-on picture > Picture at an angle
- High grade pin > Low grade pin
- High contrasting background > Low contrast background (AKA: Black pins on a black background are discouraged)
- Thin margin around the pin > Large margin around the pin
- Thin margin around the pin > No margin around the pin
- No pin backs visible > Pin backs visible
